Demolition work will start in the end of April
Closing of the parking garage and parking lot in the northwest of the Max Planck Campus Tübingen
On April 27, 2026, the parking lot and the parking deck in the northwest corner of the Max Planck Campus will be closed as part of demolition work. These areas are being cleared to make way for the new research building of the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics and are being prepared for excavation. In the future, parking spaces will be available at other locations for employees of the Max Planck Campus.
Demolition and excavation work for the new institute building are scheduled to begin in May. This includes measures to secure the excavation pit.
Due to increased noise and occasional vibrations, the demolition work, excavation, and excavation pit securing will be noticeable in the vicinity of the construction site.
At the same time, traffic flow may be temporarily disrupted at the northwest turn from Paul-Ehrlich-Straße onto Max-Planck-Ring due to the removal of excavated material.
On the Max Planck Campus, alternative parking areas have been created for employees until the opening of a new parking deck.
In general, a parking permit is required in all parking areas on the Max Planck Campus in Tübingen. Vehicles without a parking permit will be fined by the Public Order Office.
